So my birthday is coming up (October 19th...) and
people have started asking me what I want. What do I
want? A ridiculously expensive camera!

I know, I am a brat. My solution?
Amazon Gift Certificates! These stack nicely, and
the camera I want is available on Amazon for a
good price.
Click here to go to the
Amazon Gift Certificate page,
and address them to jenny@jennylisa.com !

There is a new incredibly rad shop in Northampton that
is selling indie crafts. They are at 7 Old South St. in
the alley behind the Glamourama hair salon.
can check out their
MySpace page here. I also
highly suggest checking out their
Blog here, where Marisa updates
new inventory, and talks about all the general
goings on in D.I.T.U. Alley.

As some of you know, I work at the Community Music
School of Springfield, MA as a Music Therapist. Next
month is the annual Concerto Grosso fundraising event
at Barnes and Noble in Holyoke.
The way it works is that each student has to raise at
least $40 in order to perform. My students have special
needs, and while one of them will probably have no
problem getting the money together for her performance,
the other may not. (Some of you know of her, she's the
one with Autism and perfect pitch, who makes me change
keys on the fly) If anyone has $5 or $10 to donate, it
would be really cool. (But PLEASE don't donate if you
don't have it to spare! I know some of you will want
to, but you need it more than the school!) The donation
goes to scholarships at the music school for kids who
don't have funding for lessons or music therapy
sessions. I just really want them to have a chance to
perform, because they both love it so much.
Here
is a link to the Concerto Grosso brochure.
Also, if anyone wants to come and see my girls in
action, you can come to the event.

And, for all money spent at Barnes
and Noble that day a percent will be donated to
the school.

"Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in
Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany.
That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of
the country who determine policy, and it is always a
simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a
democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament,
or a communist dictatorship. ...Voice or no voice, the
people can always be brought to the bidding of the
leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell
them they are being attacked, and denounce the
pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the
country to danger. It works the same in any country."

Friends of mine (Gillian and Banj) are entered into
some kind of sweepstakes where the family with the most
votes gets a Celtics Driveway Makeover... Banj is a
massive Celtics fan, and Jacob (Their 6 year old) is a
huge b'ball fan. Anyhow, you can vote 3 times a day.
